A Story on Trust

Sham and Shriya were happily married. They loved each other so much and would do anything for the other.

Sham's close friend had come from US and so he went to the bar not knowing how to say no to him. He called Shriya and told her he had some urgent work at office and so he's staying back. Few days later when they had a get together, Shriya came to know of the whole thing through the friend and got upset. She couldn't bear the thought of Sham lying to her. She cried for three days. Sham promised her he'd never repeat this again. She trusted him and continued to live.

When Shriya's mother called her for shopping at the mall she wanted to inform Sham but somehow it slipped her mind. Suddenly she spotted Sham in the mall. With a spurt of happiness she called him in his mobile. Sham took the mobile and immediately said,"hey I'm in a meeting. I'll call you later" and he cut the call. Shriya could see he was sitting with a lady in a coffee shop and chatting. She asked him about this when he came back home. He said, "I thought you would be angry because of your possessiveness and I didn't want to spoil your mood". He also started asking her why she came to the mall without informing him. After fighting for about a week he again promised that he'd never lie to her. She trusted him once again and continued to live again.

Sham hiding something, thinking it's good for her, and Shriya taking a promise had become the way of life. Shriya was finding it very difficult to trust him for anything. She started asking him too many questions and Sham would shout back with hurt. The hurt caused by getting cheated repeatedly was too much for her to handle. Sham started to become adamant in a way to defend himself. The more she saw the adamancy the more weak she became. Unable to handle the pressure any longer, she committed suicide and Sham was thrown into darkness. Though he married again and lived, he knew there is a vacuum in his heart that can never be filled.

You have people around you who live for your sake. Don't ever shake the roots of the trust which they have on you. If you are everything to a person, you have to think for the other person as well because they will either live or die holding you. If they love you, they'll accept you as you are. May be it'll pain when you are honest, but it'll strengthen the trust. Never ever do anything to shake the trust of the relationship that matters to you. Never lose a relationship because it's very difficult to build one.
